Line 6, shortened to L6 and coloured mallow, is the name of a Barcelona Metro and Metro del Vallès service in the city of Barcelona operated by FGC, and part of the ATM fare-integrated transport system. Originally one among many other urban lines of the FGC network, and previously numbered U6, it shares tracks with other services in several stations, except the ones exclusive to its separate branch. Line 6 links Plaça de Catalunya, the city centre, with the district of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi. In the future the service will be extended westwards, eventually reaching the Monastery of Pedralbes and the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona.
L6 originated in 1863 as the Barcelona-Sarrià commuter train, which and has changed little since its integration into the network of TMB.
