Line 6 and Line 12, shortened to L6 and L12 and coloured violet (L6) or mallow (L12), is the name of a Barcelona Metro and Metro del Vallès service in the city of Barcelona operated by FGC, and part of the ATM fare-integrated transport system. Originally one among many other urban lines of the FGC network, and previously numbered U6, it shares tracks with other services in several stations, except the ones exclusive to its separate branch. Line 6 links Plaça de Catalunya, the city centre, with the district of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi.
Since 2016, due to the accessibility works of the Sarrià station, the branch line 6 from Sarrià to Reina Elisenda is operated independently in the form of a shuttle, named Line 12. The line now only has two stations, but in the future the service will be extended westwards, eventually reaching the Monastery of Pedralbes and the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona.
L6 originated in 1863 as the Barcelona-Sarrià commuter train, which and has changed little since its integration into the network of TMB.
